The NightFire PC game was originally released in 2002. To this day it is still possible to play the game. But it’s not the same as NightFire: Source. This is often misunderstood and that’s why we dedicated this page to explain the difference.
NightFire: Source is a new game that is based on the old NightFire game but will be played on a new engine, Source. This game is still being developed and is sometimes available to be played as early alpha access. To read all about it, go here.
Updated 2002 game
NightFire PC has been updated by the community with many (unofficial) game patches. This patch allows the game to still be played after the GameSpy shutdown in 2014. Besides that, it also brings a lot of new features and fixed many bugs. Although it has been patched, it’s still the same game on the same Goldsrc engine. The singleplayer is still available but has not been updated or changed.
The updated (patched) game from 2002 is still available. Find links here.
