Although the developers of NightFire: Source Mod make use of the assets of the original PC game, those will not be used at the final release. Those assets are used to temporary fill up the mod as we test and work towards alpha/beta and final releases. The final download and it’s updates will use assets (such as models, textures, maps, etc) that are completely redesigned as our aim is to make it an HD release. We do not hold any copyrights over those assets or the original game and will therefore not use them in the final release.
Source, or the Source Software Development Kit (SDK), is a public accessible video game creation and editing program designed by Valve Corporation. It is the chief program used to develop all games made by Valve, the NightFire: Source Mod and many other mods. The Source SDK can be used to make stand-alone games, such as the NightFire: Source Mod.
NightFire: Source Mod will not be distributed or downloaded via Steam. Steam will however be required to launch NightFire: Source Mod. Just like any other game or mod built using the Source SDK.
NightFire: Source Mod is a stand alone mod. We are not affiliated with any of the companies mentioned on this page.
